Welcome to the Northern Region

National Montford Point Marine Association®, Inc.

Welcome to the Northern Region of the National Montford Point Marine Association®, Inc. (NMPMA), where we proudly honor the extraordinary legacy of the original Montford Point Marines and remain committed to preserving their history, celebrating their achievements, and carrying forward their tradition of service and leadership.

The Northern Region encompasses a broad and historically significant geographic area, extending from Maine in the north to Virginia in the south, westward to West Virginia, and eastward along the northeastern seaboard of the United States.

Our region holds a distinguished place in the history of the Association, as it is home to three of the original eleven chapters: Philadelphia Chapter 1, New York City Metropolitan Chapter 3, and Washington, D.C. Chapter 6. This proud foundation is strengthened by Tidewater Chapter 14, Maryland Chapter 17, Quantico Chapter 32, and Ken Rollock New Jersey Chapter 45.

Together, these chapters embody a shared dedication to honoring the sacrifices of the original Montford Point Marines, strengthening our Association, fostering fellowship, supporting veterans, and serving the communities we represent.

While our chapters span multiple states, we remain united by a common purpose: to preserve our history, strengthen our present, and secure our legacy for future generations.

We invite you to explore our website, learn more about our chapters, discover our initiatives, and join us in honoring the remarkable men whose courage, perseverance, and service helped shape the history of the United States Marine Corps and our Nation.

One Region. One Mission. One Legacy.

Welcome to the National Montford Point Marine Association®, Inc. Auxiliary Northern Region

Greetings and welcome,

It is my honor as the Auxiliary Northern Region Vice President to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to our Northern Region community. Here in the Northeast Corridor—where collaboration, leadership, and service intersect—we proudly uphold the mission and legacy of the National Montford Point Marine Association®, Inc.

Our region embodies a deep sense of pride, unity, and responsibility. We are committed to supporting our local Auxiliaries as they conduct the vital work of preserving, promoting, and honoring the history of the Montford Point Marines.

Together, we:

  • Support and assist Auxiliaries in developing and implementing policies that strengthen our Association.
  • Review and respond to the National President’s State of the Auxiliary report to ensure alignment and growth.
  • Generate ideas and foster engagement to keep Auxiliaries active, vibrant, and thriving.
  • Organize regional efforts that promote expansion and long-term success.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the National President to advance our mission.
  • Provide periodic reports to the National Executive Council to maintain transparency and unity.

As we continue to learn and stay engaged, we deepen our understanding of the extraordinary legacy of the Montford Point Marines. Their courage and sacrifice shape how we serve our Montford Pointers, their families, and the broader military community. This history is not only Black history—it is American history, and it deserves to be shared with the world.

Knowledge is power, and our strength lies in our numbers. Together, we honor their stories. Together, we preserve their legacy. Together, we ensure their contributions are never forgotten.

Let us be guided by the words of Constance Baker Motley: “Something which we think is impossible now is not impossible in another decade.”

Welcome to the Northern Region—where pride, purpose, and progress move us forward.

Sincerely,
Shabiki E. C. Clarke
