17th Annual Montford Point Marine Day Ceremony
& Congressional Gold Medal Presentation

Join us as we celebrate and honor the Montford Point Marines.
The Montford Point Marines were the first African Americans who entered the United States Marine Corps from the period of 1942 to 1949, and trained at the segregated training facility, Montford Point Camp, New River, North Carolina.
During this event, we will also present the Congressional Gold Medal replica to the family of Montford Point Marines, posthumously.

Location: Lejeune Memorial Gardens, 109 Montford Landing Road, Jacksonville, NC.
Note: In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be relocated to Bldg. M104 aboard Camp Johnson. Limited seating and base access required.
Itinerary:
- Ceremony begins at 8:00 a.m.
- Followed by self guided tour of the Montford Point Museum and Chapel. Base access required.
- Friday Night entertainment available at The Point, 148 Brynn Marr Road.

This is an outdoor event.
All personnel attending ceremony are subject to search by base PMO.
Limited parking at the Lejeune Memorial Gardens. Overflow parking across the street at the Veteran Cemetery. Shuttle service will be available from host hotel to Ceremony only. Museum visit not included in shuttle service.
